Sincere Prayer

April 13, 2026

In Daniel 9:1–19, Daniel responds to Israel’s sin with humble confession and urgent prayer, including himself in the nation’s guilt and seeking God with sincerity. He appeals to God’s mercy and asks for restoration, not because of Israel’s righteousness but for the sake of God’s name and glory. Daniel’s prayer shows that God’s glory and His people’s good are aligned, and that when we truly believe God will act, prayer becomes our first response, trusting Him to forgive, restore, and act for His glory and our good.

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
